Heidi Cislo, president of the Livingston Education Foundation (LEF), and Amy Saffer, LEF officer and past Hall of Fame honoree, announced the  names of the 2016 Livingston Hall of Fame honorees, and the LEAD (Leadership in Educational Achievement and Dedication) Award recipient, at the June 20 Board of Education meeting. The Hall of Fame reception dinner will take place on Thursday, October 20, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Wilshire Caterers. It is open to the public, and reservations will be required. The Hall of Fame recipients are alumni in the areas of science and math, business, the social sciences, and the creative arts who have distinguished themselves professionally and in service to others, said Cislo. Barbara Anselmi Barbara Anselmi, class of 1983, is a Broadway composer and conceiver of the musical, It Shoulda Been You. She has been a musical director/arranger/orchestrator for television, concerts and showcases across the country.  Her composing career began with the music and lyrics of All Join Together which served as the title song of a CD that raised $40,000 for the New York Times 9/11 Fund. Anselmi, the LEF inductee for the creative arts, has made contributions in musical entertainment and music education, as well as in service to others, said Cislo. Patricia (Patti) Russo In the area of social sciences and education, the LEF will honor Patricia (Patti) Russo, class of 1973, who currently serves as executive director of the Women's Campaign School at Yale University. A nationally respected leader focused on improving the quality of life for women, she has held numerous positions in public, private and not-for-profit organizations centered on women's rights. Dr. David Dean In the sciences, the LEF will  recognize Dr. David Dean, class of 1979, a cardiothoracic surgeon and surgical director for heart transplant and device therapy at the Piedmont Transplant Institute in Atlanta. He specializes in cardiac transplantation, mechanical circulatory support and cardiac surgery. A principal investigator and expert in the area of ventricular assist devices, Dr. Dean works to sustain the life of patients awaiting heart transplants, as well as those who are not deemed candidates for transplant. Howard Katz Howard Katz, class of 1967, serves as the NFL's senior vice president of broadcasting and COO of NFL Films.  He manages relationships with the NFL’s broadcast partners, playing an integral role in creating the NFL broadcast packages with the CBS, ESPN, FOX, NBC and NFL networks.
