Leaf Blower Fire

Last Wednesday, November 20, firefighters received a report of a possible leaf blower on fire at 9 Goodhart Drive.

Upon arrival, LFD found a selfpropelled leaf blower was burning in the landscaper’s trailer. The fire was extinguished using multiple portable fire extinguishers. The damaged leaf blower was removed from the trailer and the gas tank was drained into a gas can.

Gas Service Line Cut

A contractor working to disconnect the electric service lines to 7 Brown Court accidentally cut through the residence’s gas service line on Wednesday, November 20.

LFD checked the residence with the department’s gas meters and, while no readings were found, the residents were removed as a precaution. Public Service Electric and Gas (PSE&G) were notified.

As PSE&G had difficulties turning the gas off, this was an extended operation.
