The suspect in an armed home invasion and a string of burglaries and car thefts has been arrested with assistance from the Livingston Police Department. Essex County prosecutor Theodore Stephens and Homeland Security Investigations special agent in charge Ricky Patel announced that 25-year-old Alquan Harris was arrested last week.
Investigators allege Harris and another individual carried out the thefts throughout Bergen, Essex, Morris, and Passaic counties, including an armed home invasion in West Caldwell on April 9. Harris is charged with several counts of burglary, attempted burglary and motor vehicle thefts.
Ajoint investigation led by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Officers and Homeland Security Investigations in cooperation with investigators from Livingston, East Orange, Essex Fells, Cedar Grove, Roseland, Verona, Millburn, West Caldwell, Montclair, Newark, Summit, and Ridgewood Police Departments.

“Home burglaries, armed home invasions, and vehicle thefts are not just property crimes. They are serious crimes that threaten the safety and peace of our communities,” Stephens said. “We remain committed to working with our law enforcement partners to arrest and prosecute those who seek to victimize our citizens.”
