Funeral services For Lawrence Traver

Lawrence R. Traver, 92, died at Virtua Memorial Hospital, Mount Holly, on Thursday, July 17. A funeral service celebrating his life was offered Wednesday, July 23, in the Presbyterian Church of Livingston. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Livingston First Aid Squad, 65 South Livingston Avenue, Livingston, NJ 07039. Born in Far Rockaway, New York, Mr. Traver had lived in Livingston since 1951 before moving to Eastampton in 2008. He served in the US Army during World War II and was retired as the Township of Livingston tax collector and treasurer in 1988 after 25 years of service. He was a member and former president of the Essex Hudson Chapter of the Tax Collectors and Treasurers Association. Mr. Traver was a First Aid Squad volunteer, and a Livingston Little League coach. At the Presbyterian Church of Livingston, he served as Deacon and a member of its Session as well as chairman of its affi liated Cub Scout Pack. Predeceased by his wife, Sonia, he is survived by his sons, Richard P. and his wife, Diane; Mark W.; and Ronald L. and his wife, Sara; and three grandchildren. ...
