Shelva Gelman, 84 of Livingston, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2014. Love of family and friends, and integrity were the cornerstones of her life. Shelva was born in Passaic, NJ, the daughter of Harry and Ida Ring, the youngest sister of Judy Gurtman of blessed memory and Rhoda Kramer. She graduated Passaic High School and obtained her college degree at Fairleigh Dickenson University. She later worked at Sealfons - J.M. Towne where she pursued her love for fashion. Shelva proudly dedicated her life to her loving family including her adoring husband of 59 years, William of blessed memory, three sons Marc (Wendy), Steven of blessed memory (Janet) and Robert (Lori), and her seven loving and devoted grandchildren Jason, Adam, Jared, Shira, Jordan, Justin and Aliza Skye. Donations can be made in her memory to the Temple Beth Shalom Steven A. Gelman Youth Fund at www.tbsnj.org or to a meaningful charity of your choice. Funeral services were held Friday, November 28, at Bernheim Apter Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston. The interment followed at King Solomon Cemetery, Clifton.
