Funeral Friday For Ann M. Braun

Ann M. (nee Kelly) Braun, 78, of Livingston died on March 4. Born and raised in Kearny, she lived in Belleville and Irvington before settling in Livingston with her family 44 years ago. Mrs. Braun, a former district manager for the Star-Ledger, was a longtime police matron and crossing guard with the Livingston Police Department. She also served as a records clerk/ dispatcher with the Essex Fells Police Department. Active with the Women of Irish Heritage Chapter 1, Mrs. Braun was a committee member for the NJ Irish Festival, McGovern Association, and Peter Smith Association. She was also a member of the Cryan Association, Giblin Association, and Knights of Columbus Women’s Auxiliary. In addition, she was active in St. Raphael’s Senior Club, Benevolent Order of Does Livingston BPOE, and was Queen Mother for the Red Hat Society chapter #49496. During the 1970s and '80s, she was a Cub Scout Den Mother and a Football Mom with the Livingston High School Booster Club. Pre-deceased by her parents, John (Jack) and Mary Ellen Kelly, her husband, Harry J. Braun, her son Harry A. Braun, and five of her siblings, Mrs. Braun is survived by two sons, Tim and his wife Laurie Braun, and John (Jack) Braun; and her daughter, Theresa; seven grandchildren Connor, Christopher, Erin, Kathleen, Patrick, Colleen and Gary, two great grandchildren, Angela and Christopher (CJ); and her brother, Donald Kelly. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Saturday March 7, at 10 a.m. at St. Philomena Church in Livingston. Viewing will be held at Farmer Funeral Home in Roseland on Friday, March 6, from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that donations in Mrs. Braun's name be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the National Law Enforcement Officers' Memorial Foundation in Washington, DC. ...
