Robert R. Davis Sr. Dies After Long Illness

Robert R. Davis Sr. died at the age of 84 on March 30 after a long illness. Visitation will be held today and tomorrow, Thursday and Friday, April 2 and 3 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home in Livingston. A funeral service will be offered at the funeral home on Saturday, April 4 at 9:30 a.m. Born in Newark, Mr. Davis lived in Livingston for the past 46 years. He was a retired Detective Lieutenant with the Newark Police Department as well as a charter member of the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh. He served as the assistant director of the St. Rose of Lima Imperial Lancers Junior Drum and Bugle Corps. He was also a Naval veteran of the Korean War. Predeceased by his wife, Margaret, who was known as Peggy, Mr. Davis is survived by his sons, Robert Jr. and his wife, Patricia; John and his wife Nadiya; and Michael and his former wife, Rita. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorial donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. ...
