Michael Smith was happy to see representatives from the Northern New Jersey Boy Scout Council at his Pack's Blue and Gold Dinner last month, but wasn't really sure why they were there – until the end of the dinner, when he was wrapping up with a "Cubmaster Minute" in front of the 317 Scouts, leaders, friends, and family attending the event. When the representatives presented Smith with the James E. West Fellowship Award, with the requisite certifi cate, lapel pin, and square knot patch, his eyes opened wide. "I was completely fl oored," admitted Smith. "It's such a unique award, how did my Pack even know about it?"
