firefi ghters Kept busy by high Winds; extinguish small fire in hotel Kitchen

During the past week, members of the Livingston volunteer Fire Department extinguished a fire in a hotel kitchen and responded to a gas leak, a motor vehicle accident, and a flooded basement as well as responding to fallen electrical wires. High winds on Saturday, April 4, sent firefighters to 1 Largo Lane and 34 Sterling Drive, where trees had brought down electrical wires. PSE&G was notifi ed in both cases and Largo Lane was closed at both ends until the situation could be resolved. At 71 Palmer Drive, the high winds blew ashes out of a chiminea being used in the rear yard and ignited brush in the yard. Firefi ghters responded and extinguished the fire.
