Robert Rubin Dies After Long Illness

Robert Paul Rubin, known as "Bob," died on April 3 following a lengthy illness. A memorial service was held April 6 at the Hillsborough home of Ken and Amy Rubin. Born and raised in Newark, Mr. Rubin was graduated from Weequahic High School in 1949 and attended Syracuse University. He was graduatedfrom Seton Hall Univeristy.  He served in the U.S. Army in the Mountain Division in Germany shortly after the Korean War. Mr. Rubin was married to Marian Seid from 1960 to 1986, They resided in Livingston, where they raised two sons, Kenneth and Jonathan. While in Livingston, he played the violin with the Livingston Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Rubin married Lila Levine in 1987 and they resided in Verona before moving to Bloomfield. As a commercial real estate professional, Mr. Rubin worked for the last 20 years with NAI James E. Hansen in Hackensack. He previously was employed with Feist and Feist in Newark and with Helmsley Spear in Somerset. Surviving Mr. Rubin are his wife, Lila; his sister, Beverly Gershon; two sons, Kenneth and his wife Amy of Hillsborough, and Jonathan of Portland, Oregon; and three granddaughters. ...
