Prosecutor's Office Releases Statement About Fatal House Fire

Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray has released an official statement that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Livingston Police Department are investigating the fatal fire that occurred at 225 East Cedar Street, Livingston, at 4:22 on Wednesday afternoon. Accrding to Murray, "When emergency personnel  arrived on the scene they discovered the body of Dr. Emmanuel Yacoub, 30, of Livingston. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:30 p.m. The cause and origin of the fire is under investigation but the preliminary investigation indicates he may have set the fire. An autopsy will be done to determine the cause and manner of death." Murray went on to state that Dr. Yacoub was a doctor at St. Barnabas Medical Center, and that the investigation is active and ongoing. No other information was released. ...
