Funeral services were held for former Livingston resident Carol Tauben who died on May 16 after a prolonged illness. She was 86 years old. Mrs. Tauben grew up in Jerusalem, and came to New York with her parents, Yerachmiel Ben-Zeev and Rivkah, and her brothers in 1939. She was offered art scholarships in Paris and at Parsons School of Design in New York, where she studied textile design. She met her husband, Reg, in 1949, They raised their children, Rolayn an David, in Livingston. Mrs. Tauben taught art to children at the Newark Museum, the YMYWHA of Metropolitan NJ and at YMCA summer camps. She designed and executed modern Torah covers and was a trustee at Temple Emanu-El of West Essex. Mrs. Tauben co-authored and illustrated Integrated Arts and Crafts in the Jewish School. She was president of Fieldwork East, a branch of Fieldwork marketing research service, for 25 years. Mrs. Tauben is survived by her husband, Reg; brother, Saul; daughter, Rolayn; son, David; and four grandchildren. The family has requested that memorial donations be directed to any charity reflecting her life's interests.
