Myra Geffner Succumbs at Home

Myra Geffner died at home in Livingston on Saturday evening, June 20. Services were held on Wednesday, June 24, at the Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Born in Newark, Mrs. Geffner was a retired school teacher with the West Orange Board of Education. She was a member of the Crestmont Country Club of West Orange for more than 40 years, where she won many tournaments and golf awards. A member of Temple Beth Shalom in Livingston for 45 years, Mrs. Geffner was also a active member of many charity organizations, such as Play for Pink, Daughter's of Israel, Diabetes Foundation, and the Dystonia Foundation. She was also a recipient of the Israel Freedom Award. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Stephen; her children, Jeff Geffner and Marcy Krueger; and four grandchildren. She was the daughter of Hanna Ordower, and sister of Rona Berg. The family has suggested that memorial donations be made to the Saint Barnabas Cancer Center, Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, or N.J.Y. Camps. ...
