Board of Education president Pam Chirls read a prepared statement at its July 15 meeting to explain the Board's decision to approve an agreement with the governor's offi ce for the rental of the auxiliary gym at Livingston High School on June 30. Chirls said that the event had originally been billed as "an event with the governor," and the Livingston Board of Education was careful to follow Policy 7510. She added that the superintendent deemed this event "advisable" and referred it to the school board for action according to the policy.
