Anne Greene, 69, Dies After Brief Illness

Anne S. Greene, a longtime resident of Livingston, died on Wednesday, July 29, at the age of 69 after a brief bout with cancer. Raised in Brooklyn, New York, Mrs. Greene relocated to New Jersey in the 1970s to raise her family. While in Livingston she held leadership positions within the PTA and League of Women’s Voters. She also devoted her time to many other town organizations, such as Meals on Wheels. She was one of the co-founders of the first Extended Day program, which provided working families in the Livingston public school system with after school child care at a time when such services were not readily available. Surviving are her adult daughters Deborah Kelly and Elizabeth Greene, and four grandchildren. Her family requests that donations in her memory be made to the National Council of Jewish Women (ncjw.org), an organization whose mission echoes her values of helping others. ...
