Hold Service Nov. 7 For Joseph P. Murphy

Joseph P. Murphy of Greenacres, Florida, died October 5, just months after his 80th birthday. Born in Harrison, Mr. Murphy had lived in Kearny, Livingston and Basking Ridge, before retiring to Florida, where he lived in both Naples and Lakeworth. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Murphy was a vice president of Walsh Trucking Company of Jersey City. He also ran his own retail business, Penny Pinchers, with his wife in Harrison, until 1994. He was an officer in his Lakeworth Home Owners’ Association, as well as a veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Murphy is survived by his wife of 59 years, Roberta, as well as a son, Joseph, and his wife Maria; a daughter, Renee Messina and her husband, James; and seven grandchildren. The family has announced that donations in Mr. Murphy's memory may be made to the ECLC Foundation in Chatham. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service to celebrate his life at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, at the Liberty Corner Presbyterian Church, Church Street, Liberty Corner. ...
