Mary Carol Ley Rosenstein

Mary Carol Ley Rosenstein, 84, formerly of Livingston, NJ and recently of Atlanta, GA, died suddenly and swiftly of natural causes on October 21, 2015. Born in New York City and reared in Larchmont and Mamaroneck, NY, Rosenstein earned her B.A. in Psychology from Cornell University. Her eclectic work history reveals her sense of intelligence and her willingness to learn new skills. She was a social worker, television advertising account manager for McCann-Erickson, program director and concert manager for Montclair State University's School of Music, computer program analyst for Avon and GAB Business Services, and editorial assistant in medical publishing for the Journal Cancer and Elsevier. Mary, as she preferred to be called, derived utmost joy from music, especially singing. She was an alto member of conductor David Randolph's Masterwork Chorus and enjoyed singing the works of Beethoven, Bach and Mozart. She had an adventurous spirit and would go anywhere armed with a good map. She had a quick wit, did the New York Times Sunday puzzle in ink, was loved by her friends, was generous to a fault, and took on projects with great passion. She was a loving wife to her husband, Leonard, who predeceased her in 2013, a terrific mother to daughters Andi and Lisa, and a wonderful mother-in-law to Barney. Her four grandchildren – Allison, Melinda, Michael, and Ian – brought her the greatest happiness, and she made it her life's mission to spend as much time as possible with them through extended family trips and activities. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Atlanta. Donations in her memory may be made to your favorite charity. ...
