More than 100 people attended a science forum at Livingston High School (LHS) on December 21 to hear five scientists – three of whom are high school students – describe their work in GMO (genetically modified organisms) safety standards. In the audience were students, faculty members, Livingston Education Foundation (LEF) and Board of Education members, and residents, including one couple who came because they own stock in Monsanto, a corporation that produces GMO products. The audience displayed curiosity about the research and the controversy, and pride in the accomplishments of the students and alumnus.
