Winter Storm "Jonas" Dumps Nearly 30" of Snow on Livingston

A "monster" snowstorm dubbed Winter Storm Jonas raged up the Eastern Seaboard on Saturday, January 23, dumping nearly three feet of snow on parts of New Jersey, and burying Livingston under 28 to 30 inches of the white stuff. "It was hard to get a more exact number, due to high winds and drifting," noted Mike Anello, superintendent of the Livingston Department of Public Works (DPW). "But we definitely got 28 inches, maybe 30 in some spots." The official snowfall amount recorded at Newark Airport was 28 inches.
