Funeral Services Held For Edward De Venezia

Edward J. De Venezia died on Thursday, January 21, at Saint Barnabas Medical Center after a short illness. A resident of Livingston for the past 46 years, Mr. De Venezia was born in Newark, the sixth child of the late Nicola and Maria Saporito De Venezia. He was president of the De Venezia Construction Company and a 1950 graduate of NJIT with a degree in mechanical engineering. Mr. De Venezia was a World War II veteran who served in the Army from 1943 to 1945. He was a member of St. Philomena's Church and a retreatant at Loyola House in Morristown. Mr. Venezia is survived by his wife of 63½ years, Alice Goellner, and six sons: Edward and his wife, Barbara; James; Paul and his wife, Cecilia; Tom; Peter and David De Venezia. He is also survived by his daughter, Lynn and her husband, Larry Tobias; brother, Richard, and his wife, Ann; and sister, Marie De Venezia. He was predeceased by six of his siblings. Funeral arrangements were by the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home. The family suggests that donations may be made to St. Philomena's Church or the Loyola Retreat House in Morristown, NJ. ...
