Controversy Continues

One year later and controversy over the PARCC (Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers) assessment still abounds, as do vague and confusing answers to the multitude of questions that parents have about the testing. Last year, it was very evident that Livingston as a whole – parents, teachers, administrators, and the Board of Education – had serious concerns about the PARCC. With one of the highest opt-out rates in the state, about 1,100 of Livingston students eligible to take the test did not.
