Fire Department Responds To Attic, Mulch, Wire Fires

The Livingston Fire Department responded to reports of five fires, including an attic fire and a mulch fire, during the past week. Firefi ghters went to 103 Irving Avenue on Thursday, April 21, after the homeowner reported extinguishing a fire in his attic involving the attic fan. Fire officials found that the fan motor had overheated. The attic was vented and the fan disconnected. Burned insulation and debris were removed from the residence, and the area was wet down as a further precaution.
