The Livingston Police Department is once again imploring residents to lock their vehicles, even when they are parked in their own driveways. Over the last few weeks, the number of cases involving suspects illegally entering unlocked motor vehicles has been increasing. In the past, police have alerted residents to the possibility of their vehicles or items inside their vehicles being stolen. Now, law enforcement officials are warning of an added danger when it comes to leaving one's car doors unlocked – the possibility of a criminal gaining access to one's home by using remote garage openers or spare house keys that are left in the vehicle.
