This week, the Township Council agreed to allow the Rainbow Pride flag, a symbol of the LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender, queer/questioning) community, to fly at the Oval for the entire month of June. The Council voted 5-0 last year in favor of raising the flag for the first time. At that time, the request, made by the Livingston Committee for Diversity, was only for one week. The flag-raising ceremony was attended by many people, from members of the LGBTQ community and their family and friends, to township leaders and officials.
