Dorismae Pecht

Dorismae Pecht, (neé Heim), age 94, of Livingston, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Thursday, May 11, 2017. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Philomena’s Church on Tuesday, May 16. The family received friends at Quinn- Hopping Funeral Home in Livingston on Monday, May 15. Dorismae was raised in Maplewood before moving to Livingston in 1950. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She was a business woman, who, with her late husband Richard A. Pecht, owned and operated Pecht’s Bakery in Livingston and Pecht’s Short Hills Bakery. A woman of many talents, she was an artist and danced in many ballet performances. As a child she danced on Broadway in the Monte Carlo Russian Ballet at the St. James Theater. After finishing college, she worked as a draftsman for Bell Labs. Later she was an interior designer with the Edwin A. Kirch & Company of East Hanover and was a member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). She was an active member of St. Philomena’s Church in Livingston and the Livingston Women’s Club, as well as a lead actress in a number of Livingston Little Theater performances. Before retiring at age 81, she was a receptionist for 23 years at the Livingston Town Hall. Dorismae was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard A. Pecht; her dear siblings, Mildred Duffy and Ida Smith; and her son-in-law, William M. Kieran. She is survived by her devoted children, Sherry Lee, and her husband Gregory Schultz; Allison Gay Kieran; and Richard D. Pecht; loving grandmother of William Lee Kieran (Christine), Kevin Michael Kieran, Erin Tenley Schultz; greatgrandmother of Caleigh Marie Kieran; and sister of Alyn J. Heim (Sally).
