Takes Second Place At Race for the Cure

Nicole Rong, 15, of Livingston crossed the finish line in 21 minutes and 47 seconds to win second place in the Women’s Division at the tenth annual Susan G. Komen North Jersey Race for the Cure 5K USATF Timed Run. Rong is the youngest female runner in the history of the race to achieve this honor. More than 2,000 people went to Liberty State Park in Jersey City to attend the May 21st fundraiser, which raised more than $600,000 for the fight against breast cancer – an increase of $100,000 over the previous year (fundraising closed June 30).
