The Livingston High School girls’ varsity soccer team tied for the Essex County championship after a game against Montclair Kimberley ended in a 1-1 tie in double overtime.
“For the first time since 1993, the Lady Lancers can call themselves back-to-back champions,” said coach Paul Raiz. “This year’s team has overcome a lot since the beginning of the season, including injuries, line-up changes, and new formations. It was just three weeks ago that the Lady Lancers found themselves one game under .500 and desperately trying to find their identity and save their season. Finally, things clicked for the ladies and, if adversity builds character, then this team has climbed Mount Everest.”
