Metal Detector to Be Used For Town Council Meetings

Following a suggestion made at a previous Township Council meeting by resident Mark Fusari, individuals will now be required to walk through a metal detector before being allowed into Township Council conference and regular meetings. As far as acting township manager Russ Jones can recall, this is a first for the township. Fusari, a long-time member of the Livingston First Aid Squad, volunteer firefighter, and chairman of the newly formed Sidewalk Committee, presented the idea at the Council’s last conference meeting on Monday, November 6. He said that in light of recent events [i.e. mass shootings], it might be a good idea to seriously consider using a metal detector.
