‘Neighbors Helping Neighbors’ Appeals for Financial Contributions to Help Growing Number of Clients

Livingston Neighbors Helping Neighbors (LNHN) is seeking financial contributions as its client list grows. “Crises don’t take a holiday. Livingston Neighbors Helping Neighbors has seen this firsthand, especially over the last month,” says LNHN board member Michelle Lemieux. “With the holiday season in full swing, more families need LNHN’s support. In fact, in just the last 30 days, four new families have utilized the organization’s services, bringing the total number of families helped to nearly 20.” Founded in 2016, Livingston Neighbors Helping Neighbors is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and an affiliate of Livingston’s Healthy Community, Healthy Youth (HCHY), formed to support those in the community who are experiencing financial hardship. Providing short-term emergency financial assistance and a variety of in-kind support including meal donations, fresh produce, non-perishables through CHOW, and grocery store gift cards to residents in need, LNHN relies solely on donations from generous community members to carry out its mission. LNHN does this work in partnership with Livingston’s social worker, who screens families and assesses requests to ensure dollars/in-kind support are used appropriately.
