Doris Schlesinger Marcantonio has a lot of Holocaust history in her family.
She knew most of it – how her parents, grandmother, and aunt escaped from Vienna, Austria, and made it to America in the early years of World War II. But there were four people whose fates were unknown: her uncles, Max and Salomon Friedmann, her aunt Grete (Beck) Friedmann (Salomon’s wife), and her grandfather, Heinrich Tiger.
Now, thanks to the U.S. Holocaust Museum, she has gotten some heartwrenching closure.
