Shredding Truck Catches Fire; Attendance Record Is Broken

The 1,065 cars that went through the Saturday, April 14 electronics recycling and paper shredding event is a new Livingston record. Scott Goldman, chairman of the Recycling and Reclamation Committee, said cars lined up along West Northfield Road even before the event started. Committee volunteers, including Eric Baltuch, Joan Cohen, Judy Grebel, Walter Veit, and event chairwoman Karen Garber, helped direct traffic and assist residents. Also on hand were volunteer students from the Livingston High School Science Honor Society, and some new signage helped the process go smoothly.
