At the start of the Tuesday, May 22, Township Council conference meeting, about a dozen Livingston veterans addressed the Council members, asking them to refrain from hosting events at Memorial Park at the Oval, other than ones that honor veterans who did not return home from war.
“As veterans’ organizations, we consider that sacred, and we would like to keep it that way,” said Tony Ciccone, Commander of VFW Post #2856 in Livingston. “We look at it as a cemetery. When you walk into a cemetery, you want to show respect.”
