Hold Service in Phoenix For Charles A. Miller

Charles A. Miller of Phoenix, Arizona, formerly of Newark and Livingston, died Thursday, July 12, in Phoenix. He was 91 years old. Mr. Miller was born on April 19, 1927, to the late Charles J. and Mary (Ohman) Miller in Newark. He was a member of the Class of 1945 at St. Benedict Preparatory School in Newark. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of Steamfitters’ Local 475 for over 60 years. In Livingston, Mr. Miller was involved in coaching and umpiring baseball in the Little League and Babe Ruth Leagues. He also was an umpire for the Little League World Series Alumni and participated in the 1970 World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Predeceased by his daughter, Patricia, he is survived by his five children, Robert and his wife, Suri; Margaret and her husband, Michael; Charles and his wife, Michelle; Maureen and her husband, Roger; and Kathleen; three siblings, Elaine Jacobs, Helen Schulties, and James Miller; and six grandchildren. A committal service with military honors will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix. ...
