M. Barry Nydick

“A True Mensch” M. Barry Nydick, 80, of Livingston, died on July 10, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Barry was married for 57 years to his best friend and love, Marji. Also left to honor his memory are his children, Harris and Carol, Suzanne and Earl, and Andrew and Beth; his grandchildren, Alyssa, Jon, Philip, Tomer, Gayle, Jack, and Maxwell; and his great granddaughter, Molly. Barry also leaves behind his sister, Rosalind (Philip) of Aventura, Florida. Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Barry graduated from Franklin & Marshall College in 1960 and Rutgers School of Law in 1963. He owned and operated The Country Store, a gourmet deli and liquor store in Harding Township, for 20 years. As an active member of the Greater MetroWest Federation, Barry served as President of the Jewish Education Association, on the board of the JCC, and offered his expertise whenever asked. He was also an active member of Congregation Agudath Israel in Caldwell, New Jersey. In retirement, Barry remained active as he read to the blind for EIES of New Jersey and taught ESL at the Livingston Library. Barry took great pride in competing in the Boston, New York City and numerous other marathons, triathlons and races. Walking his daily five miles gave him inner peace. Services were held at Congregation Agudath Israel on July 12, 2018. He lived every moment, laughed every day and loved beyond words. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Congregation Agudath Israel Tribute Fund in Barry’s memory. May his memory always remain a blessing. ...
