Lancers Beat Bees on Late Score; Football Team Earns Season’s 1st Win

The Livingston Lancer varsity football team’s season is off to a great start after a 33-28 victory against the Bayonne Bees. The victory came in the home-opener on Friday, September 7, in front of a crowd which sported red, white, and blue at Allen Jacobson Memorial Field. The Lancers improved their record to 1-1 after a tough, 35-21 loss at Randolph High School. The offense was led by senior quarterback Jack Ernst, who tossed four touchdowns and passed for 289 yards. The Livingston offense incorporated many players; nine players recorded a catch. In contrast, only three players from Bayonne caught passes. The touchdowns were caught by seniors, Joe Cullen and Tommy Warner, and sophomore, Jack Larson.
