Burton Walter Sebold, 84 died in his home in Livingston on Friday, November 2. A memorial service was held on November 4 at Bernheim Apter Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel in Livingston. Born in Newark, Mr. Sebold graduated from Weequahic High School in 1952, served two years in Korea with the U.S. Army, and received a bachelor's degree from Upsala College in 1959. He was elected to the Livingston Democratic County Committee in 1972 and served on the Livingston Recreation Advisory Committee. He also attended five national Democratic conventions. After a career at Wakefern Food Corp., Mr. Sebold became director of the Economic Development Corporation of Essex County, and then served as the County's head of vendor administration until retirement. Burt is survived by his wife, Essex County Freeholder Patricia Sebold; son, Howard (Shayna); daughter, Risa Schreiber (Bruce); and five grandchildren.
