Hundreds of residents, elected officials, township employees, and committee volunteers gathered Tuesday morning, New Year’s Day, at Livingston’s Senior/Community Center for the annual reorganization meeting. It was a time for township officials and residents to reflect on the year that was, while looking forward to 2019.
After winning their reelection bids last fall, Council members Rudy Fernandez, Shawn Klein, and Ed Meinhardt were all sworn in at the start of the meeting. Immediately following those appointments, Fernandez was nominated as deputy mayor for the year. Councilman Al Anthony was next nominated as the new mayor, the second time he will have held the position.
“I look forward to working hard and making tough decisions while also moving things forward,”Anthony said. “I’m truly grateful for the second go-around.”
