Charlie Schilling To Retire Jan. 31

Charlie Schilling, former long-time Livingston Fire Chief and founding member of the Livingston First Aid Squad, announced his formal retirement from township employment. Chief Schilling has been working part time as Livingston’s fire sub-code official, evaluating plans for new construction in regard to fire safety. Chief Schilling tendered his resignation this past week to his supervisor, township construction official Martin Chiarolanzo. He will retire effective January 31, just two months shy of his 98th birthday.
