Starting next week, Livingston’s Township Council returns to a five-member board, following the Livingston Democratic Committee’s selection of Michael Vieira to fill the spot left vacant by the resignation of former Councilman Michael Silverman.
We welcome Vieira to the position and wish him well. We would have been happy with any of the three candidates, however, after speaking with Vieira following his selection, we are confident he is well prepared for the role. He will bring relevant experience and knowledge, while also offering a fresh face to the Council for the first time in several years. He has made it clear he is entering the position with a head full of ideas, and is not afraid to speak his mind. If he sticks to that, it should prove beneficial for the township.
