Karen Killary died Wednesday, March 6, at the age of 61. She had battled metastatic breast cancer for 17 years.
Ms. Killary grew up in Livingston and graduated from Livingston High School in 1975. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Hartwick College in 1979.
She worked as a research scientist for ten years at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), and for 25 years at Novartis Pharmaceuticals.
She is survived by her two adult children, Sean and Lisa.
A celebration of Ms. Killary’s life will be held at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston on Saturday, March 16, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, visit www.quinnhoppingfuneral.com.
