Private Services For Michael Buglio

Former Livingston resident Michael Joseph Buglio died Sunday, May 26, at the age of 85. He was born and raised in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. He spent the majority of his adult life in Livingston, and most recently lived in Warrenton, Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Carol Spinner; his sister, Margaret Generose; his former wife, Lara Buglio; his three children, Michael Buglio (Bette-Lynn), Marisa Buglio Schaefer (Ron), Daniel Buglio (Kelly); and four grandchildren. Mr. Buglio was a life-long musician. He learned to play trombone as a child and went on to study music, earning a B.S. at West Chester University and an M.A. in music education from Temple University. His 34 year career in education began as a high school band director in Maryland and concluded as the supervisor of music for the Livingston School District. In 1977, he founded the New Jersey Pops Symphony Orchestra. Under his direction, the Orchestra went from playing at shopping malls to performing at large venues throughout New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C. A private memorial service is planned in Virginia. ...
