Allyn (née Deutel) Cooper, a longtime resident of Livingston, died on October 8.
She grew up in East Orange and Maplewood and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania.
After receiving her master’s degree in speech and language pathology, she worked in the Livingston public schools for 32 years.
In addition to her husband of 56 years, Larry, Mrs. Cooper is survived by her children, Bari Cooper Sherman (Marshall) of Los Angeles, and Leslie Cooper (Sarah Zercher) of Jersey City; four grandchildren, and her brother, Robert Deutel (Saundra) of South Orange.
Funeral services took place on October 11 at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel in Livingston.
The family suggests that donations can be made to the Foundation for Diabetes Research (diabetesnj.org).
