High School Girls’ Cross Country Team Finishes Eighth at County Championships

The Livingston High School girls’ cross country team competed in the Essex County Championships on Friday, November 1, at Brookdale Park in Bloomfield. “The Lady Lancers knew they needed to mentally and physically be ready for a Friday evening battle,” recounted coach Dave Czeizinger. “Team goals had been discussed, personal race plans laid out, and the squad rested in preparation for the tough competition they would face from the other county schools represented at the meet. The crew had worked very hard over the past two weeks preparing for the race.” The Lancer girls were represented in the junior varsity and varsity championships, noted the coach, “opting to give their freshman runners more experience at the 5K distance instead of the shorter 3,200 meter mixed freshman race.” More than 230 female competitors from Essex County participated in the competition. The JV and varsity competitors ran a 3.1 mile course, after the mixed boys’/girls’ 3,200 meter race.     To read more please log in or subscribe to the digital edition http://www.etypeservices.com/West%20Essex%20TribuneID480/   ...
