Livingston ophthalmologist Michael Harris of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, formerly of Livingston and Green Brook, died December
1. He was 75 years old. A memorial service will be held at a later date in New Jersey.
Dr. Harris was a graduate of Rutgers University, New Brunswick, then attended the State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NewYork. He did a year of general medicine at Jackson Memorial, in Miami, Florida.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a medical officer.After a residency at Albert Einstein Hospital in New York, he opened his own practice in Livingston, serving the community for 43 years.
Dr. Harris is survived by his wife, Gail Harris; three sons, Kenneth Harris and wife, Meka; Richard Harris; and Trevor Beston; three grandchildren; his father-in-law, Bob O’Brien and wife, Joan, of Englewood, Florida; his sister-”wife”-in-law, Debbie Anderson, and Stan Lushinsky of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania; and two brothers-in-law, Kevin O’Brien and his wife, Shelley, of Apex, North Carolina, and Bob O’Brien and his wife, Emily, of Morris Plains.
