Mass Offered Monday For Paul R. Pearsall

Pearsall, 74, died Wednesday, January 8, at his home in Manasquan. Born in Orange, Mr. Pearsall grew up in East Orange, and Livingston, and graduated from Livingston High School. He went to work for Charms Candy Company, starting in the plant; he was later promoted to the sales department. In 1974, he and his brother, Bob, moved over to M.W. Houck, the oldest food and confectionery broker in the country. Mr. Pearsall became president and principal owner in 1987. He was a member of the Candy Hall of Fame. He retired in 2002 to his residence in Manasquan. Mr. Pearsall is survived by his partner, Irene Shaffer; his sons, Paul, Richard, Michael, and Christopher; his brother, Doug; his sister, Cathy; and six grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren. Visitation was held on Sunday, January 12, at the Neary Quinn Funeral Home, in Manasquan. A funeral Mass was offered on Monday, January 13, at St. Denis Church in Manasquan. Cremation was private.
