Council Extends Tax Grace Period

The Livingston Township Council held a special meeting at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 1, to discuss an extension to the grace period of the second quarter property taxes. As many as 70 people watched the meeting live, with more than 1,400 online viewers by Monday morning. The property tax deadline is May 1, but on Tuesday, April 28, governor Phil Murphy signed an executive order allowing municipalities to extend the grace period to June 1. Previously, the grace period before interest started to accrue was ten days, making it May 11.
