Livingston residents have been steadily supporting Livingston Philanthropies, Inc. (LPI), reports founder and director Jeff Friedman. “Our volunteers are awestruck by Livingston’s ongoing generosity,” he noted. “Due to contributions arriving by check, PayPal and credit card, LPI continues to ship food and bottled waters to the homeless and profoundly poor in Newark and East Orange. Thank you, Livingston friends!” With the pandemic still raging, he continued, “Conditions are worse than ever for those living on the streets or in extreme poverty. Plus, so many are out of work now and needing a pantry take-out bag or box to feed their hungry families. Help LPI feed people who are not in a position to help themselves by donating now. Won’t you please join your altruistic neighbors by making a difference?” Donations may be send by mail to LPI, P.O. Contributions are tax-deductible. “LPI almost never provided food items prior to the pandemic. The organization formerly provided clothing and toiletries to the homeless; now, with the COVID-19 crisis, it has instead begun accepting monetary donations to purchase food for the homeless.
