Car Into Home

Livingston Fire Department officials were among the first on the scene of a car that drove into a home following a two-car crash near the intersection of Mt. Pleasant Parkway and Hillside Terrace at 8:55 a.m. on Monday, October 12. A 2017 Mazda operated by a 17-year-old female from Livingston failed to stop at a stop sign on Mt. Pleasant Parkway and collided with vehicle on Hillside Terrace. The second car was a 2016 Mazda operated by Susan Schaefer, 51, of East Hanover. Following the initial crash, the vehicle operated by the 17-year-old continued off the roadway, struck a street sign and then a house at 41 Mt. Pleasant Parkway. The house suffered structural damage and damage to the gas service. Township engineers and PSE&G were called to inspect the damage to the home. The 17-year-old reported neck pain but was not transported to a hospital. No charges were reported.
