Ethel A. Longo, age 89, of Livingston, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Monday November 9, 2020.
A Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated at St. Philomena Church, 396 South Livingston Avenue, Livingston, New Jersey, on Friday, November 13, 2020, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, New Jersey.
The family will receive their friends at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 145 East Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Livingston, New Jersey, on Thursday, November 12, 2020, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Ethel was born in Brooklyn, New York, to the late James and Jennie Longo. She received an associate’s degree from Hunter College. Ethel later moved to Manhattan, where she worked as a supervisor in pediatric cardiology at New York Hospital until her retirement in 1990.
Ethel moved to Livingston in 1991. She was an active member of St. Philomena’s Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and as a member of the Rosary Society. She also was a member of the Kitty Club.
Ethel is survived by her devoted family, Michelle Breitenbach, daughter Skylar, Marie Lagaros, husband Nick, and children Athena, Alexandra and Nicholas and Linda Longo Lang, husband John and son John Jerald. Ethel was predeceased by her dear siblings, Lillian, Gerald, and Mary.
