Lancer Boys’ Cross Country Team Places Seventh in American Conference Championships

Lancer Boys’ Cross Country Team Places Seventh in American Conference Championships

On Tuesday, November 3, the Livingston High School boys’ varsity cross country team traveled by bus to Branch Brook Park in Newark for the last time this season. The boys’ team competed in the American Conference Championships, the most competitive of the three conferences, and finished the race in seventh place with 188 total team points. Lancer sophomore Christopher Bonnar jumped out to a fast start in the varsity race from the very beginning. Bonnar was third at the mile mark and never slowed down throughout the race, running his first mile in 5:55. He then picked up the pace on the second mile pulling ahead of his competition and splitting a 5:53 second mile. After the two-mile marker, Bonnar held his lead against his competition and won the race by two seconds.
